Licensed Mental Health Counselor
James Lopresti, PhD, LMHC, has been a licensed mental health professional for over 25 years. He served as the Director of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Services at what is currently Whitman-Walker Health in Washington, DC. He relocated to Florida in 2002 to assist in the founding of SunServe, South Florida’s LGBTQ+ Social Service Agency where he established the mental health program. He has been a faculty member at various Universities and Higher Ed institutions in Boston, Chicago, New York, Washington, DC and Miami. He currently functions mostly as a clinical supervisor for Florida LMHC candidates and offers workshops on various clinical topics in Florida and beyond. He also maintains a private practice in Wilton Manors with a special expertise in LGBTQ+ care.
