Rocio is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist, Certified Kink Conscious Professional, as well as a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional. Having worked the majority of her adult career in integrated medical environments, working closely with medical providers and clients struggling with comorbidities. She has worked in therapeutic roles in community health clinics, cancer centers, hospice, and foster care. The majority of her experience would fall under the therapy modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Existential Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
She enjoys working with clients from marginalized communities. She has had the privilege of collaborating with amazing clients through their journeys. She pulls from a variety of techniques to work within individuals’ values and beliefs. Her job is to empower clients while guiding them through their own personal growth and healing from an approach of authenticity and compassion.
She considers herself a dog lover, and her love language is memes. She considers herself an artist, musician, writer, and a survivor of major losses. She has benefited from therapy personally, with a mixture of both helpful and non-helpful experiences. She is skilled to working with complex issues, including trauma, identity, sexuality, non-traditional relationships, alternative lifestyles, serious medical illness, end-of-life issues and spirituality. She strives to approach complex issues with curiosity and understanding and feel honored to partner with clients in working towards their success.
